This Mom Boss has beautiful and organic products you are going to want to check out!
I had the pleasure of receiving a box full of Tasha’s goodies. She sent me beautiful items to include in boxes that were coming with me to some big vendor events and out to reviewers. It has been so great to get to know Tasha and work with her. I was extremely impressed with the quality and beauty of her work, not to mention all of her items are super soft – a have-to in the baby world!
I am pleased to introduce to you, Tasha Ravinowich | Mom Boss
Why did you start your shop?
I started sewing as a child and as my friends began to have babies I started to make handmade gifts for them. After ten or fifteen people suggested I sell my items online, I started my Etsy shop in July of 2015. I had dabbled on Etsy for about five years but decided to take it seriously just last year.
What inspired you?
I am inspired by fresh, modern prints that are outside the usual realm of baby items but are still pretty. As the mother of a young girl, I try to find prints that can be feminine without being too over the top. I love prints in blues and greys for both girls and boys. I have also shifted to focus on mainly Organic cotton. Certified Organic Cotton prints are responsibly produced from the farming of the cotton all the way to the printing process. I think this is the future and the most responsible option for items we intend our children to love on for years.
What would you tell other female entrepreneurs?
My biggest advice to other female entrepreneurs is to take yourself seriously. Don’t discount your abilities or what you can do. I recently had a heart to heart with myself about purchasing my materials at retail. I realized there was no way to make my business profitable if I continued to buy in this way. However, I never even considered that I would be able to establish wholesale accounts for supplies. Who am I? I’m just one little person doing this silly thing. The fact that I was able to go out and establish wholesale accounts opened up a whole new world to me in my thinking. I am a serious business and I should not underestimate my capabilities. If I don’t take myself seriously, who else will?
What is coming up for your business? New and exciting products? Changes?
The biggest change coming to my business is my transition to using Organic Cotton prints. Like I said earlier, I think Organic options are the future and the most responsible option for baby items. I’m still clearing out some inventory that includes traditional manufacturing methods. However, my fabric options going forward will focus on Organic fabrics.
