So, instead of posting my usual bump update as I was originally planning on today, here I sit in the hospital triage waiting to be induced (and I am writing this on my phone so please bare with me). I will be 39 weeks tomorrow and most likely will have a baby in my arms.
Baby S has been measuring small for the last month and they have been carefully watching my weight gain as well as my measurements. I had a sonogram three weeks ago and they had wanted to see me back today if I was still measuring small still. Well here I sit. Baby S isn’t growing and they don’t see the point of waiting another week and possibly putting him in distress, so they feel like he will thrive better on the outside.
Definitely wasn’t prepared, mentally or emotionally for him to come this weekend. I pretty much finished my “to do before baby” list last week and was looking forward to just a week to spend with Sebastian. I (mostly) had my hospital bag packed but had convinced myself I still had plenty of time. So when they told us we weren’t leaving the hospital without a baby we were more than a little overwhelmed.
And here we sit, in triage almost twelve hours later, still waiting. Apparently this is a popular weekend to have a baby.
I am looking forward to sharing the news of our new baby boy! Hope you all have a happy Easter! So thankful for our risen Lord and thankful for this opportunity to celebrate with a new little boy of my own.
