I love Friday’s! And on top of it I am loving my new series Fit Fridays. Today I’d like to share about my challenge group, it’s really great and I’d love to do one with you!
After loosing all my baby weight and being skinny again with no problem, I was really lacking the motivation to start working out again. But as time went on I was really noticing how weak I was. Pregnancy really took a toll on my muscle tone, my lower back and my abs. With a growing little boy and living on the third floor (with only stairs to get up), I really needed to start doing something to gain my strength back. I slowly started back at the gym, but it was really hit or miss. Then my friend, Breanne, who is a beach body coach started a challenge called Fit and Fabulous.
Not only is it a workout challenge group, its a take-better-care-of you challenge group. Just what I needed. To get out of my slump and back into the groove. Its a small group of ladies all with similar but different goals, holding each other accountable and encouraging each other to keep going even when it’s tough. We are to follow a beach body program schedule as well as a healthy meal plan (or just make healthy choices in the food department) and drink half our body weight in ounces of water.
On top of the “fit” part we have the “fabulous” part. We are encouraged to get dressed out of our workout clothes/yoga pants at least once a week, pamper ourselves at least once a week, and read ten minutes a day of personal development. It helps us to really focus on getting a little “me” time and take care of ourselves so that we can be the best we can for our husbands and children.
There is also a challenge within a challenge. Breanne has set up a point system for checking in and posting pictures on the facebook group page. It really keeps you accountable because if you are any bit competitive it’s not fun to be the one with no points and no posts.
I am really enjoying it. It’s been great to have the support and encouragement from others as well as the fitness advice from Breanne. I have been doing a mix of both gym and Power90. I have done the Power90 program many times and the results are always amazing. I have a gym membership as well, so since I am trying to build some muscle and gain some weight it has been nice to have a bit of a variety.
